Al-Shabaab Retakes Kudhaa town without any resistance from KDF & Raskamboni militia

Kismayo (Harar24) – Fighters belonging to Al-Shabaab have taken control of Kudha town today which is approximately 130 KM (81 miles) West of Kismayo.

 

Residents in the the port town of Kudhaa report that KDF forces backed by Raskamboni militia men withdrew from the town before Al-Shabaab forces arrived there.

 

A high ranking Al-Shabaab commander in Lower Jubba confirmed to Harar24 that their forces took control of the town without any resistance.

 

Sources from the area reported that two days prior the KDF and Raskamboni militia men attacked the town which at the time was controlled by Al-Shabaab. After a heavy fight between the two forces inside the town itself the KDF took control of the town. Local residents claimed that both sides had sustained casualties.

 

After regrouping, Al-Shabaab today counter attacked the KDF and the Raskamboni militia men who were still in the town, however our sources reported that Al-Shabaab took control of the city without any resistance from KDF and the Raskamboni militia men.
