Attacks on AMISOM bases in Qoqani & Baidhabo
Mogadishu (Harar24) – Heavy clashes occured last night at the city of Qoqani as KDF bases in the area came under attack.
Residents in Qoqani reported that units from the Al-Shabaab movement carried out several attacks targeting the KDF bases located just outside the town.
According to locals who spoke to our correspondent a range of light to heavy weapons were used in last night’s attack at the city of Qoqani in Lower Jubba region.
As the attack occurred at night the the exact casualties and details are not fully known.
In other developments, Wednesday night Al-Shabaab attacked governmental and AMISOM bases in Baidhabo, the provincial capital of Bay region in southern Somalia.
Residents said Al Shabaab militants attacked different Amisom bases and government centers inside the city of Baidhabo.
A Baidhabo resident, who talked with Harar24 over the phone said that men belonging to Al-Shabaab attacked the city just before nidnight and started firing heavy weapons at government buildings inside the city.
“Around midnight we heard a lot of heavy gun fire and also shelling ” a resident told a Harar reporter over the phone from Baidhabo. “All around the town, government centers and houses belonging to officials came under attack” added the resident
