At least 3 injured after a grenade attack outside a Popular hotel in Mogadishu
Mogadishu (Harar24) –An explosion that occurred last night nearby a hotel in Mogadishu has left at least three people injured.
According to eyewitnesses the explosion which occurred at “Hotel Sahafi” was a result of a hand grenade that was hurled into a checkpoint by security forces outside the hotel.
According to unconfirmed reports from the area of the explosion,the hand grenade was thrown from a bus that was passing by the area.
The police promptly stopped the bus and detained everybody aboard for questioning. Sources from within the police now however claim that they have arrested certain people in relation to last night’s attack and that the other detainees would be released.
The Somali capital has constantly come under attack from militants belonging to the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab movement; however no one has claimed responsibility for the explosion that occurred last night at the hotel.
