Two Kenyans abducted in Mogadishu by gunmen wearing military uniform
Mogadishu (Harar24) – Two Kenyan nationals are reported to have been abducted at the Tarabuunka junction in the Hodan district after having been stopped at a checkpoint by unknown gunmen.
The gunmen who reportedly wore the Somali military uniform stopped the vehicle carrying the two Kenyans accompanied by two Somalis and at gunpoint ordered the Kenyans to descend from the vehicle while telling the Somalis to leave the area.
According to reports the two Kenyans were engineers by profession who were hired by former warlord businessman turned Mohamed Daylaf to work on building his petrol station.
According to eyewitnesses the gunmen shoved the Kenyans in a vehicle and then drove off.
This event comes amidst a series of attacks perpetrated in Mogadishu by men wearing Somali uniform while security deteriorates. Last month a similar attack by gunmen wearing military uniform lead to the deaths of three Syrian doctors, after having been stopped at a checkpoint and opened fire on.
