Legendary Somali singer Mohamed Suleyman Tube’ buried in Mogadishu today
Mogadishu (Harar24) – The popular and legendary Somali singer Mohamed Suleyman Tube’ who was 86 years old , passed away last week in Germany and was buried today in Mogadishu. His funeral was attended by a large number of people, including government officials such as the Prime Minister Abdiweli Ahmed.
The body of “the King of voice” as many Somalis dubbed him arrived in Mogadishu’s airport today from Germany and his funeral prayers were held at General Kahiye’s military academy in Mogadishu. Mohamed Suleyman Tube’ who passed away in a hospital in Germany was a well-liked singer amongst the Somali people, who was known for his unique voice and style of singing, he was known to sing about love and about the Somali nation.
His funeral today was attended by several high ranking officials such as Ridwan Hersi Mohamed the minister of religious affairs, Abdikarim Hussein Guled the minister of security, Mustafa Ali Dhuhulow the minister of information & communications and various well known singers and well-known personalities.
Before his burial a dispute arose regarding his burial site, with the self-declared government of Somaliland demanding that Mr. Tube’ be buried in Hargeisa, however after much consideration it was decreed that Mr. Tube’ was to be buried in Mogadishu.
