In a newly released video Al-Shabaab threatens Kenya with more attacks

Mogadishu (Harar24)-Al-Shabaab’s media wing, Al-Kataib released an 11 minutes long video yesterday, titled “Mujahideen Moments 4”:  the video is part of series of videos which Al-Shabaab broadcasts its fighters relaxing and singing while sending several threatening messages to Kenyan government. Harar24 managed to watch copy of the video.

The video which is completely Swahili with English subtitle seems to be targeted mainly at the Swahili speaking audience, in particular the Muslim youth in Kenya as it heavily focuses Westgate attack.

One of the fighters sends a chilling message to the Kenyan government threatening with more attacks like Westgate, ” Insha-Allah if Westgate was not enough we have 100s of men who are wishing for the same operation” says the Kenyan fighter who is shown with military uniform known for the Shabaab fighters and speaking Swahili language.

The video also shows several other Kenyan fighters singing Swahili songs which they praise Al-Shabaab and Al-Qaeda, whilst calling more attacks against Kenya:”We had previously warned that Nairobi will be targeted so we entered Westgate and made you (Kenya) taste death and destruction” Says one of the Kenyan  fighters in Swahili Song.

This is not the first time Al-Shabaab released threatening video, the Al-Qaeda affiliated group had previously released videos threatening to attack the west in particular UK whilst broadcasting fighters speaking English and other non Somali Languages.

Al-Shabaab is believed to have many foreign fighters in their ranks especially those from east African countries such as Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, the group mainly uses some of those fighters in propaganda videos to inspire the rest of the east African Muslim communities.
