Four alleged Al-Shabaab members executed by firing squad in Mogadishu

Mogadishu (Harar24) – Four alleged Al-Shabaab members faced the firing squad today as their death sentences were carried after they were convicted and judged guilty in a military court in Mogadishu.

The four men, 25-year old Awiye Ahmed Jama’, 22- year old Mustafa Mahmud Shidane, 21- year old Abdinasir Khalif Mohamed and 21- year old Nur Abdulle Cawale were all accused of being involved in illegal Al-Shabaab activities in the city of Mogadishu the court heard, before eventually being sentenced to be executed by a firing squad.

Today’s executions by firing squad mark the 6th execution carried out in the past two weeks against alleged Al-Shabaab members in the capital city, this comes after the head of the military tribunal court Col. Turyare declared “no Al-Shabaab members would be jailed anymore, but rather would face execution”.
