Exclusive images of failed raid
Harar24 News has received exclusive images from the SEAL raid carried out in Baraawe during the early morning hours on Saturday by US forces.
A local Harar24 reporter based in Baraawe managed to get access to the equipment left behind behind by the US navy seal and was able to obtain pictures. The special forces who are now believed to be from US’s Navy SEAL retreated from the scene after failing to reach their “high value target” according to local reporters.
The images obtained by Harar24 News shows one type of hand grenade, three different rounds worth of ammunition, two empty magazines, a GPS coordinator, bottled water and an anti-fog cloth which Al-Shabaab spokesman said they took from the foreign forces which raided the beach house in Baraawe.
“We have confiscated these equipment from the white invaders who tried to attack us on Saturday.” Sheikh Abdulaziz Abu Mus’ab said.
“The Mujahidin have always been able to resist against the attacks from the U.S and its allies.” Abu Mus’ab added.
Residents from the town are also reporting that they found two ladders which the special forces used for the pre-dawn operation. Terrified residents who aren’t used to hearing gun battles inside the peaceful city of Baraawe were awoken to the noises of heavy gunfire exchanged between forces of Al-Shabaab and foreign special forces believed to be Navy SEALS.
The official millitary spokesman of Al-Shabaab commented on the attacks today. “Early in the morning of Saturday white soldiers from the West attacked a house in the town of Barawe, they tried to storm a house but the Mujahidin who were already on alert repulsed them.” Sheikh Abu Mus’ab said in a press conference today.
He said when the “white soldiers realized that they could not reach their target they fled towards the coast.”
“Soon they ran towards the coast and the Mujahidin followed to chase them until they got on a boat that was waiting on the coast.” Abu Mus’ab added.
